Use LEFT combinado con CHARINDEX:
UPDATE MyTable
SET MyText = LEFT(MyText, CHARINDEX(';', MyText) - 1)
WHERE CHARINDEX(';', MyText) > 0
Tenga en cuenta que la cláusula WHERE omite la actualización de filas en las que no hay punto y coma.
